The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce (CCC) is a 1,500-member not-for-profit organization representing all sectors of the Cambridge economy. Its diverse membership and deep expertise in government affairs, business development, professional development and business philanthropy attract employers of all sizes.
Since its inception in 1926, the Chamber has been actively engaging local business leaders in governmental and philanthropic activities, connecting and educating its members, and providing a forum for addressing the needs of the Cambridge business community.
Every business needs to connect with its local community to obtain products, services, clients and employees. The CCC connects its members large and small with the people, products, and services necessary to succeed. The Chamber’s ability to provide the resources that all companies need and share is unmatched by any other business organization in the city.
The CCC takes an active role on public policy issues confronting the Cambridge business community, working at all times to ensure the economic health of the city. A full-time Government Affairs staff person keeps the membership abreast of relevant legislation and provides a strong voice during public processes.
The CCC also convenes a Government Affairs Committee on a monthly basis to discuss current regulatory issues. CCC members frequently attend and offer testimony at public meetings and legislative hearings and, in addition, have access to timely and influential speakers.
Through its programs and events, the Cambridge Chamber of Commerce enables members to develop personally and professionally. CCC educational programming provides opportunities to build new relationships, discover and discuss topics vital to success in today’s business world, and meet with leading business, political and public figures who influence the region’s economy.
The Cambridge Chamber of Commerce is the conduit through which many Cambridge businesses access opportunities and funnel resources into Cambridge schools and nonprofit organizations. The CCC makes connections between businesses and the community via the programs of its Community Outreach Committee. CCC members and staff regularly support community events and organizations, and many leaders from the CCC sit on the boards of local nonprofits.
