The Main Line Society of Professional Women was launched in May 2009 to fill a need for a professional organization for women of all ages and businesses of all types and sizes in the Main Line Region.
The Society of Professional Women (SPW) enhances personal and professional development by offering participants stimulating programs, networking opportunities and a welcoming forum to share experiences and insights.
The SPW also fosters community involvement. Each SPW event features a different Main Line Chamber of Commerce nonprofit organization, and attendees get involved in helping with the group’s mission. At one 2009 event, for example, more than 300 books were collected and donated to Presbyterian Children’s Village.
SPW has been dubbed the “New Women’s Club on the Main Line.” No one could have predicted their rapid growth — from 450 names on an original email list to 1,400 names in the first three months alone.
As they have continued to expand, SPW is proud to be helping women grow their careers and engage in meaningful ways in the community where the Main Line works and plays.
