Spotlight On: Eddie Fam, Founder, Networking for Good

Eddie Fam is the founder and CEO of IMPACT Marketing & Events, a nationally recognized events management company based near Washington DC, a firm that specializes in charity fundraising events, corporate meetings, and conference planning networking events, special event planning, marketing campaigns, grassroots marketing, as well as nationwide and destination weddings.

He is also the creator of Networking for Good, which hosts exciting networking events in the DC Metro area that benefit both the business and non-profit communities. A different kind of professional networking organization, we’ve taken a whole new approach to making business connections in Washington DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia.

“I launched Networking for Good in response to the lack of affordable and effective networking opportunities that also support important causes in Washington DC and Northern Virginia,” Eddie explains. “As a business owner, I know very well how crucial networking is to growing and developing business relationships, but wondered if there wasn’t also a way to do something useful and give back at the same time.”

More about Eddie Fam: Eddie has planned everything from large-scale concerts and festivals to corporate events for Walmart and Sam’s Club, to charity galas and fundraisers. He also raises funds for local, national, and global causes including Coptic Orphans, Hoop Dreams Scholarship Fund, Mission Life Center, Georgetown Lombardi Breast Cancer Research Center, and Tigerlily Foundation for breast cancer awareness.

In 2000, Eddie signed local DC rock band SEV to a major record deal with Jimmy Iovine, which helped land the group a commercial for Pepsi Blue that aired during the MTV Video Awards. In 2004, Fam launched iKY Clothing, a socially conscious clothing brand that was rated “Top 3 Rock Gear” Brands by VH-1 at the Rock Honors Award Show, and was endorsed by Boyz II Men, Tyrese, Duran Duran, Chris Daughtry, and Quincy Jones. In 2005, Eddie was selected for Bono’s ONE Campaign to serve as a U.S. delegate to help promote the “Commission for Africa” which increased global funding to the world’s poorest people by $50 billion.

Eddie is also the new Marketing Director for International Special Events Society in Washington, DC, where IMPACT was nominated for 2 awards for “Best Corporate Events” in 2011.
